Why Schlaraffia?
Schlaraffia is not a club in the usual sense — it is an experience. A world apart, in which everyday life stays outside and the delight in play wakes up again.
Humour with style
Wordplay, satire, self-mockery — and all of it with style. At Schlaraffia clever heads laugh with one another, not at one another. Humour is a duty; rolling one's eyes is forbidden.

Knights and squires, Reych and throne, arms and orders — the mediaeval role play turns every evening into something one does not forget.
The Newarka has played the Schlaraffen game since 5 December 1890. It was founded by the Nova Yorkia; a year and a half later, on 22 April 1892, it was sanctioned at Burg Centralia in Newark. Over the decades the Reych by the railway station became a Reych in Morris County — but the name stayed, and with it the river of Newark in the name of the castle: Trutze Passaica der Fuchsbau.
We meet on Mondays at Glock 7 d. A. — seven in the evening — in Dover, New Jersey, in German, for about three and a half hours. If you are a Sasse of another Reych and would like to ride in, or would simply like to look in as a guest, send us a short note through the contact form — then the tankard will be ready.
